Why I Chose To Break Up With The Gym
Overcrowding
A crowded gym can be off-putting. Waiting for equipment, navigating through people, and sometimes even lacking privacy can be draining. There are so many people, and everyone is staring at one another, creating an awkward and uncomfortable atmosphere. I have seen people stand around for a long time just talking or scrolling on their phones, not working out, not doing what most people go to the gym to do.
The people aspect of the gym is distracting for me. I believe many people enjoy the company of others when they work out, but I’m not one of those people. I need to focus. I need to zone out and zone in. I need to be alone.
