Hearing the words “I love you” can be a wonderful thing. But before you reach that point in a relationship, there are specific conversations and considerations that you should have. Before saying those three special words, let’s discuss what you need to know.

Are We on the Same Page?

Before saying “I love you,” it is essential to ensure that both parties understand each other’s expectations for the relationship. For example, do they want a long-term commitment or something more casual? Are they looking for marriage and children or just companionship? Ensuring that your expectations align with your partner's is critical to ensuring both parties are happy and fulfilled.

Am I Ready?

It is also essential to assess if you feel ready to say, “I love you.” Are you comfortable opening up about your feelings and being vulnerable in front of this person? Have you spent enough time getting to know them, their family, and their friends before taking things to the next level? If not, taking more time before expressing your true feelings may be best.
