The Truth About Hookup Culture
Is the hookup culture ruining our ability to be optimistic about finding true love or even standing in the way of establishing healthy connections?
In a hookup culture, men and women who are already emotionally distant from one another, even their friends, are now distanced from their sexual partners. Hooking up fundamentally demands each individual to utilize the other person for sex, disregarding their nature and focusing only on appearance and other considerations.
When males have lost the aptitude or skill to empathize with one another, using others for sex is not difficult. Many people are aware of the negative aspects of hookup culture and do not want to engage. Still, it is so widespread that even those who do not wish to participate feel compelled to do so if they're going to have any romantic interactions at all.
Call it reasons for validation and the desire to feel loved. The truth is, hooking up rarely ever ends in a committed relationship between two people who have genuine compassion and romantic feelings for one another.
