Thank you! Initially, we had an open and honest conversation about our wants and needs. He expressed that he didn’t want the same things I did, so we made the difficult decision to walk away from the relationship. After a month of no contact, we both realized how much we truly valued each other and made meaningful changes to make the relationship work. That said, this is a unique situation, and in most cases, the second part of this story doesn’t happen.

Having an open and honest conversation with your partner is crucial. Asking direct questions about their goals and priorities can provide the clarity you need to decide whether to stay or walk away from an unfulfilling relationship. If they come back after some time (1–3 months) with a willingness to reflect and make the necessary changes to meet your needs, that’s wonderful. However, if they don’t, it’s often best to go no contact after that initial conversation and focus on your own growth and healing.

During this time, I encourage you to dive into self-improvement and surround yourself with positive and supportive influences. Pick up a hobby or a good book (I personally enjoy fictional novels—they’re great for a little escape and giving your mind a break).

Above all, prioritize yourself and what brings you peace. This path isn’t easy, but with resilience and self-compassion, you’ll grow stronger and more aligned with what you truly deserve. Stay strong and always choose what’s best for you. You’ve got this! ❤️
