Shhh… Keep Your Secrets to Yourself

Some people choose to share all the ways they do what they do, but many of them forget that knowledge is power, and when you give your knowledge away, in most cases, you give your power away with it.

I choose not to share all my secrets of how to run successful marketing campaigns or create and publish constant content because I believe that people should teach themselves, learn, and gather the right strategies that work for them by doing it themselves. No one taught me. Sure, I went to college and had several different marketing and public relations certifications, but navigating my way through all the ins and out of this career I have designed for myself was done by learning it independently.

Offering people shortcuts or giving out information others can take credit for when the compliments and success roll in is silly. Keep your secrets to yourself and let your actions and results make the noise.

I know this sounds selfish, but you have to be careful with who you share certain information. There are people out there who are like vultures and want to take everything they can without giving anything back to you. However, there are a few accepting of this rule, such as mentoring or coaching someone.

I dated someone for a few years that picked my brain for information on marketing, business strategies…
