Lifestyle Tips to Improve Your Health and Wellbeing
Modern society can be a stressful place. Between the politics of our day-to-day lives and the ever-present stream of news updates, it's no wonder many people find it challenging to stay calm, cool, and collected.
Stress is one of the most common reasons people come to my clinic! But while there are plenty of ways to manage stress effectively, one of my favorite ways is by focusing on improving your health and well-being through simple lifestyle changes that can make all the difference in how you feel and how effective you are at managing life's challenges.
Meditate
Meditation is a great way to improve your health and well-being. It can also be done for free in the comfort of your own home!
If you're unsure about meditation but want to try it, start with short sessions—around 10 minutes—and work up from there. For example, try sitting cross-legged on a cushion or backless chair, closing your eyes, and focusing on the rhythm of your breathing as it moves in and out of your body. This is called "mindfulness," one type of meditation that means being present in the moment. By being mindful instead of letting thoughts run rampant through our heads all day long, we learn how to control our feelings better by focusing on them without judgment or criticism.
