How to Improve Your Self-Worth and Practice Self-Respect

Feeling good about yourself is essential to living a happy and healthy life. If you don’t respect yourself, you may find it hard to be confident in your abilities or feel worthy of things. That self-image is often projected to the world and if you don’t see yourself as worthy, how do you expect anyone else to?

But self-respect isn’t something that happens overnight — we must work on it daily. This doesn’t mean you need to spend hours each week working on your self-esteem; it simply means practicing certain behaviors and habits that lead to stronger feelings of self-worth over time. Here are some tips for how you can start today.

Know you are worthy.

Self-worth is the measure of how valuable you are as a person. It’s the degree to which you feel worthy of love, respect, and support from other people in your life. If your self-worth is low, you don’t believe that others value and appreciate you for who you are. On the other hand, if your self-worth is high, there is an inner sense of goodness, and others recognize this innate worthiness in everything that flows from within your being.
