How to Find Motivation When You Feel Overwhelmed

If you’re anything like me when you feel overwhelmed, you want to curl up under a blanket and hide from the world. It’s like everything is coming at you all at once, and everyone is asking more from you than you can or want to give. This energy type deeply affects motivation levels, creating a void in the drive to do much of what you need to get done. When you have a client or boss is trying everything they can to micro-manage you, the willingness to contribute drastically declines.

Motivation is the drive to achieve your goals or needs. It is influenced by:

  • how much you want the goal
  • what you will gain
  • your personal expectations

When you’re usually a highly motivated person with a strong desire to accomplish your goals, anything that gets in the way of your flow is something that ends up becoming a massive burden. Sometimes we have to take on more work, a side-gig for financial purposes, or maybe you want to expand your portfolio with a new client. The long hours and extra headache of dealing with significantly complex individuals should come with an expiration date of no longer than 60–90 days.

It’s essential to limit the time you invest into personal and business deals that worsen your health. Knowing there is an end date in sight…
