Anxiety is an inclusive term that encompasses several disorders. Although different factors can cause anxiety, it’s essential to know how to deal with it to live a full and happy life.
Below are some helpful tips on how to deal with anxiety:
Acknowledge Your Feelings
You may think, “But I don’t want to feel anxious!” That’s true, but you do want to feel something. You want to identify what you are feeling and helpfully use that information. For example, suppose you notice that when your anxiety flares up, it is because of a particular situation or person. In that case, this awareness could help guide your decision-making when dealing with those situations or people in the future. If you find out that being at home makes your anxiety worse than being outside or around other people, paying attention — and possibly limiting — your time indoors could help reduce its severity over time.
Being aware of what makes us agitated is one step closer to managing our emotions effectively; however, it is not enough on its own: acknowledging our feelings does not mean accepting them as valid or proper just because they exist within us at this very moment!
