How to Be Yourself in a World of Critics

Most of us know the disheartening effects of critics when it comes to tearing our life to shreds and trying to tell us how to live our life. Sometimes it’s about your career, who you’re dating, why you are not dating, where you live, what kind of car you drive, how you dress, your hair color, if you have tattoos, etc. The list goes on. It’s hard to be surrounded by people who belittle you or try to direct you away from what is truly making you happy and doing what you are passionate about.

My heart breaks for people who feel pushed around and bullied by others who try and dictate the way others live their lives simply because they can’t understand them. I feel we all experience something from time to time, but some of us have experienced it deeply throughout our entire lives. Nothing is more controlling and compulsively disgusting than people who judge others just because they disagree with what the other person may say or do.

It is okay for people to think and live differently.

This is how we learn from one another, free of judgment and hostility.
