Grief is a word so laden with weight, and yet many of us divert from it, don’t we? Loss is never easy; it’s almost like a part of your heart shatters. But what if, instead of pushing away grief, we learned how to embrace it?

What if we learned to honor our pain, sit with it, and eventually let it go? That is what I want to address today, for it is something that I have had to come face to face with in my own life, and I know so many of you can probably relate.

These are the times where everybody seems to be in a race to perfection. Instagram is full of picture-perfect moments, and everyone seems to be running toward success. There seems no other way to cut it. Though let me tell you something real — this business of healing doesn’t just work like that. There is no linear path, no quick fix, no fast-forward for this hard stuff: grief, depression, healing — these things take time, and that’s alright.

And so how do we move through suffering, loss, and trauma to still find our purpose and passion without being completely consumed by sorrow and depression?
