Often, societal pressures and family patterns play significant roles in perpetuating alcohol addiction. Many cultures glorify alcohol consumption, making it difficult for individuals to stay sober.

Additionally, those who grow up in families with a history of alcoholism are more likely to develop similar habits due to learned behaviors and genetic predispositions.
