Have you ever heard of “obsessive love disorder”?

When we are attracted to a man or a woman, it is natural to have recurring thoughts about that person. It’s understandable that we’d want to spend every waking moment with them.

A healthy relationship relies on sentiments, which encourage couples to spend as much time as possible with one other. These ideas and sentiments develop into a greater level of respect, maturity, and commitment with time.

Unrequited love, on the other hand, can occasionally cause obsessive thoughts if we believe the person we’re attracted to isn’t really into us. Even worse, if you’re obsessed with a crush or an ex-boyfriend / ex-girlfriend you can’t be with, your obsessive thoughts will keep you from going forward in life.

When we are obsessed with someone, we are compelled to do the following:

  • Changing our conduct in the goal of piqueing the other person’s interest in us.
  • Constantly assessing the intensity of their sentiments by scrutinizing every action or phrase they make toward us.
