We want a challenging relationship because it makes us feel like we have accomplished something and that we are good enough for someone else to love us. We want a challenging relationship because it makes us feel important, unique, and appreciated. The more complicated the other person is, the harder you will try (in some cases) to prove that you are worthy of them and deserve their attention and affection.
How exhausting! You deserve someone who praises you and showers you with love and affection, not someone you have to beg to treat you with respect and give you breadcrumbs of validation.
