4 Easy Workouts for Beginners at the Gym
Are you new to the gym? Congratulations on taking your first step toward a healthier life! Going to the gym can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are four simple workouts that anyone can do — no matter their fitness level.
Workout 1: Bodyweight Squats
Bodyweight squats are one of the most straightforward exercises you can do at the gym. Start by standing with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart and your toes pointed outwards. Next, squat down until your thighs parallel the ground and then push back up using your legs and glutes. Do three sets of 10 repetitions each. As you become more comfortable with this exercise, you can add weight as a barbell or dumbbell for added resistance.
Workout 2: Pushups
Pushups are an excellent way to strengthen upper body muscles like the chest, triceps, and shoulders. Start by getting into a plank position with your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart and your feet together. Next, bend your elbows and lower yourself towards the floor until your chest is close to touching it before pushing back into starting position.
