While you may be contemplating whether or not it is time to remove yourself from a position and move on to other/greater things, you are most likely working on the financial aspect as well. Many of us stay with a job we hate in hopes that it will get better, and well, we got bills to pay. But how do you know when it’s time to move on?
Here is a list of 20 questions to ask yourself and ideas that should help you decide so that whatever decisions you make will be the best ones for you personally and professionally.
- Are you able to utilize the skills you already possess, or have you had to set them aside to focus on things you’re less passionate and skillful at?
- Does the company you work for support a life/work balance?
- Is there room to grow and move up within the organization?
- Are you well received and respected by the people you work with?
- Have you been turned down for more than two job promotions with little to no explanation?
- Do you feel like an outcast, or do you fit in well amongst your co-workers and get along with most people you work with?
- Does your boss empower you or make you feel small and incapable of simple tasks?
